Doing

“I have been impressed with the urgency of doing.  Knowing is not enough; we must apply.  Being willing is not enough; we must do.”  Leonardo da Vinci

Even back in Leonardo’s much slower paced world, “doing” is the ultimate test.  It is not just what we think or plan or even say that is the measure of us; it is what we do that carries the weight of our authentic selves.

Sometimes the “doing” is doing nothing.  This is  possibly the hardest type of doing:  noninterference, allowing consequences to permit growth in another,  letting tempers cool, waiting for the right time.

One of the things that needs doing in the next week is to VOTE.  This is the right time to take time to use your authentic voice.  It is in our plurality that our strength as a nation emerges.  Our vote is our voice.

One of the marks of  an effective person is to do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done.  This is simple, but not easy.  Many important things are like that.
